OLLI Presents "The Africa Project"

University of California, Irvine Extension, along with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), join together to present “The Africa Project” featuring Debra Bianchi and Allison Hart. The Africa Project is an Irvine-based nonprofit group emerged in response to the millions of children in Africa impacted by the AIDS pandemic.

Irvine, Calif. (Feb. 25, 2009) – University of California, Irvine Extension, along with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), join together to present “The Africa Project” featuring Debra Bianchi and Allison Hart.

The Africa Project is an Irvine-based nonprofit group emerged in response to the millions of children in Africa impacted by the AIDS pandemic. Bianchi and Hart will describe The Africa Project’s efforts to provide home-based health care services, a meal a day for 800 students at a designated school, and emergency food aid in Nkandla, Africa. The luncheon is open to the public and will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 4, at 11:15 a.m. on the UCI campus at the UClub McCulloch Library.

OLLI at UCI is a dynamic group of seasoned adults—both retired and semi-retired—who enjoy literature, history, science, the arts and travel. OLLI’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for mature adults by promoting intellectual growth and unique educational experiences in an environment of social interaction.
