Cecil (Katie) Suwal, the Madame who ran Eliot Spitzer’s preferred prostitution ring, was sentenced to six months in prison on Thursday.

According to the New York Daily News, Manhattan Federal Judge Barbara Jones rejected prosecutors' recommendation of a two year jail sentence for the defendant, citing the tremendous influence Emperors Club VIP boss Mark Brener once had over the 24 year old college student.

To promote this argument Suwal’s lawyers entered as evidence a discrete hidden tattoo of their client which read "Property of Mark Brener." According to her lawyer, Brener’s psychological domination was such that she was incapable of independent decisions.

She became Brener's "paramour, his companion and ultimately his assistant" at the Emperors Club VIP, a $5,500 an hour escort service, said defense attorney Alberto A. Ebanks.

Suwal, 24, ran the day to day operations of the ring and pleaded guilty in June to money laundering, conspiracy and promoting of prostitution. Nearly a million dollars in cash was found by investigators in the Cliffside Park, N.J., apartment of Mr. Brener and Ms. Suwal.

Suwal reportedly cried as she requested mercy for the judge. "It is my aim to prevent others, especially young girls, from making the kind of mistakes that I have made," indicated the defendant. According to the New York Times the judge then praised her for trying to get her life back on track.
