The popular Circus Train children’s program returns to The Workshops Rail Museum from Saturday 22 September to Sunday 7 October 2007.
Circus Train brings to life the colourful world of the travelling circus through workshops, displays, art and entertainment.
Director of The Workshops Rail Museum, Andrew Moritz said Circus Train was a unique school holiday program for families.
"Historically, rail has played an important part in delivering entertainment to country towns," Mr Mortiz said.
"When the circus came to town it was a major cause for celebration. We are hoping to recreate this excitement with Circus Train at The Workshops Rail Museum."
As well as learning about the history of the circus and its relationship to rail, other activities will include storytelling and appearances by Ringmaster Toot and Choo Choo the Clown, an arts and crafts creation station and sideshow fun in Action Alley.
Budding young performers can join Circus Camp to learn acts such as juggling, balancing on a beam and mini-stilt walking.
Visitors can also board the Circus Steam Train travelling from Roma Street Station to The Workshops Rail Museum on Tuesday 25 September. Tickets for the Circus Steam Train include entry into the Museum, the Circus Train event and return transfers to Brisbane. Bookings for the journey are essential and charges apply. -- www.qm.qld.gov.au
