Textile Museum Fall Symposium

Complementing and expanding ideas from all three fall exhibitions at The Textile Museum, conference explores the history and current state of collecting from different perspectives.

The symposium will take place from Friday, October 19 to Sunday, October 21, 2007.

Participants enjoy a varied program of presentations by scholars and collectors, receptions, exhibition tours and a special "Show-and-Tell" session.

Although textiles have a long tradition of being passed down from one generation to another, they are one of the hottest new areas of collecting. Why are people drawn to fiber art? What types of work do they collect?

Join us for The Textile Museum Fall Symposium as we explore what's collectible now as well as the historical, psychoanalytic and sociological bases for why people obtain and keep objects. -- www.textilemuseum.org
