Argentina Expels Bishop Holocaust Denier.

By now everyone knows about Bishop Richard Williamson. The pope lifted an excommunication on Williamson along with a number of other bishops of his order, which had been excommunicated for decades. Allegedly the pope was unaware of the Bishop’s holocaust denying views.

To be specific: Williamson said in a television interview that no Jewish people died in gas chambers and that only 300 thousand or so Jews were killed, not 6 million. Williamson is notorious for his anti-semitic views.

After learning of the wretched views of this man – and facing massive public outcry, particularly in Germany - the Vatican rebuked him and called upon Williamson to recant his statements. Williamson did not do so. Also as a result of his views Williamson was removed from his position as church leader by his local diocese.

And now Argentina is deporting Williamson. He has ten days to leave the country.

According to the BBC:

"Argentina's interior ministry said on Thursday that Bishop Williamson "has concealed the true motive for his stay in the country". He had said he was an employee of a non-governmental group rather than declaring "his true activity" as the director of a seminary, the ministry stated."

Undoubtedly there is more to the expulsion than that. Richard Williamson's views and words have rightly angered the world and now he must suffer for it.
