There has been another tragic set of deaths in Iraq. This time, however, it appears to be inflicted by one of our own and on a United States Military Base
According to the N. Y. Times:
The United States military said Monday that five American
soldiers had been shot at one of the main American bases in
Baghdad. At least one news agency said the killer was an
American soldier who had opened fire on fellow troops.
Many of the details of this shooting are unclear. It must, however, be seen in the context of a series of recent violent events in Iraq which have caused serious examination of security.
Of course if this is indeed fire from one of the United States own soldiers ... there are many questions to be asked as to why this soldier opened fire.
