Serial Killer at large in Milwaukee

Living in the same city where Jeffery Dahmer once carried out his bloody and perverse murdersh as always been somewhat disturbing to me. Now it turns out that Milwaukee has another serial killer at large. This one is uncaught, unidentified, and has killed over a period of 20 years.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal

A Milwaukee police spokeswoman has confirmed a DNA link between a suspected serial killer and a seventh woman murdered in Milwaukee.

Department spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz Tuesday morning said the State Crime Lab has linked the suspect's DNA to Florence McCormick, a slain prostitute who was found dead April 24, 1995 on Milwaukee's north side.

McCormick's body was found inside a vacant home on the city's north side in the 600 block of W. Locust Ave., police said at the time the body was discovered. Workers repairing the house found the body of the 28-year-old in the basement.

The home was boarded up, but a window was found broken, according to the 1995 Journal Sentinel news story.

Neighbors said the red, 1 1/2-story frame home had been vacant for about three weeks.

On Monday, authorities disclosed they had found the same DNA on five slain prostitutes and a teenage runaway. The suspect is at large.

Apparently this killer preys on African-American women, particularly prostitutes. Hopefully is found and arrested very soon.

It is truly frightening to think that someone could kill for over 20 years and never be caught - indeed until now no one even knew their was a serial killer at large! - truly scary.
