Sept 18 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov, son -in-Law is as a close relative of Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov, resigned to spare the latter of being accused of nepotism, Zubkov told journalists following a meeting with President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
"Before my nomination was to be discussed at the State Duma, I had had a meeting with the defense minister, who, as you know, is my close relative [son-in-law]. Taking into account our close family relations,he tendered his resignation to the president today," Zubkov said.
Prime Minister has given the government structure report to the President Putin
and he will announce on Firday. Media reported earlier that Serdyukov is married to Zubkov's daughter.
