Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan To Discuss Caspian Gas

Turkish Energy Minister Hilmi Guler today said he will meet with his Georgian and Azerbaijani counterparts in Istanbul "within the week" to discuss the sharing of gas from Azerbaijan's giant Shah Deniz field.

On December 24, Georgian Energy Minister Nika Gilauri said Ankara had agreed to give Georgia some 800 million cubic meters of its share of gas from the Caspian gas field.

Tbilisi has been seeking to reduce its dependence on Russian gas.
