Old Second Bancorp Selects AT&T for New Network Services

AT&T Inc. has announced a new contract to provide network services to Old Second Bancorp, a financial services organization that has headquarters in Aurora and a network of 31 banking facilities throughout northern Illinois.

Under the terms of the three-year contract, AT&T will serve as the primary network and data services provider to Old Second Bancorp and will equip the headquarters and all satellite locations with AT&T's Internet Protocol (IP)-enabled Virtual Private Network (VPN) services.

AT&T IP-enabled VPN will allow Old Second Bancorp to take advantage of expanded bandwidth, which will provide a reliable, private network that can be accessed simultaneously by any Old Second Bancorp branch sites regardless of location. The VPN solution will also support backup features so that Old Second Bancorp can share customer files efficiently across the network and can continue business operations in the case of a disaster, which is a company necessity.

"We needed a cost-efficient, converged network platform that would help improve productivity and allow for business growth," said Dave O'Brien, executive vice president of Information Systems for Old Second Bancorp. "We're confident that the AT&T VPN will deliver those benefits while also providing the reliability, continuity and security features that our customers have come to expect from Old Second Bancorp."

Using this solution, Old Second Bancorp will streamline internal and external communications between offices via AT&T's Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network. In addition, the flexibility of the VPN will allow Old Second Bancorp to continue to add locations to the company network without compromising bandwidth capacity.-At&T
