Concert Is Fun For Entire Family

The Pensacola Symphony Chamber Orchestra will present the General Electric Music for Families Strings Rule! concert on Saturday, September 22 at 10 a.m. at N.B. Cook Elementary School. The performance is a fun-filled, family oriented concert tailored for children of all ages.

This entertaining and interactive Saturday morning is designed especially for families to learn and enjoy music together. Pre-concert learning stations feature activities that will engage kids young and old followed by a concert by the Pensacola Symphony's Chamber Orchestra.

The activity stations provide opportunities for children to make music at the instrument petting zoo and to learn a few "moves" with the help of the Northwest Florida Ballet. The Institute for Human and Machine Cognition station will also be on hand to demonstrate the science behind sound.

The Strings Rule! concert features the music of Grieg's Holberg Suite, Vivaldi's Four Seasons Winter, Saint-Saens' The Swan and The Elephant, Britten's Simple Symphony, and the Concerto for Oboe, composed by the Pensacola Symphony's own Matthew Fossa. -- www.pensacolasymphony.com
