
With marginal fall in fuel, power and non-metallic mineral prices, inflation came down in India to 3.32 percent for the week ended 8th September against 3.52 percent for the previous week.
In comparison, the wholesale price-based inflation stood at 5.22 percent as on 9th September 2006.
However, prices of primary articles, which includes major food and non-food items, rose by 0.2 percent during the week, according to official data released on Friday.
The food articles group rose by 0.2 percent due to higher prices of fruits and vegetables, condiments and spices, barley and wheat (one percent each).
The index of manufactured products, which has a 63.75 percent weight in the wholesale price index, rose by 0.2 percent.
The rate of inflation has been revised from 4.41 percent to 4.76 percent for the week ended 14th July 2007. - DDNEWS
