Siemens To improve spare parts logistics at KARL MAYER plant

KARL MAYER, one of Germany's leading manufacturers of textile machines, is optimizing its warehouse facilities with the aid of an IT solution from Siemens IT Solutions and Services. For this project, Siemens will implement a system based on SAP LES (Logistics Execution System).

n the past, production processes at the KARL MAYER textile machine plant were complex and involved a large number of small parts warehouses. And this is precisely where Siemens IT Solutions and Services will set to work. In the future, the new IT system based on SAP LES will give the company a standardized platform across all its sites and enable a shift from many small warehouses to a single centralized warehouse. As a result, information will not be stored redundantly in several places at the same time and it will be possible to record available spare parts more quickly. This gives the textile machine manufacturer a better overview of all its logistics processes and allows it to control them more precisely.
The company is looking to this new solution to significantly reduce outlay across all its logistics processes, from incoming to outgoing goods, and to substantially speed up its provision of materials. -Siemens
