India defeated hot favorites Kangaroos of ICC T20 World cup by fifteen runs in the second semi at the Kingsmead in Durban. India scored 188 runs for five wickets and the dashing batsman Yuvraj played another master piece inning scoring 70 runsin just thirty deliveries including five fours and five sixes. An excellent team effort in all departments of the game withexcellent bowling by India restricted them to 173 for 7 from their 20 overs with Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, Irfan Pathan and Joginder Sharma taking two wickets apiece.
A wonderful batting by Gautam Gambhir (24 from 25)Robin Uthappa 34 off 28 balls including one four and three sixes Yuvraj scoring 70 in 30 deliveries Dhoni then took up where Yuv Raj left off and hit a blistering 36 off 18 deliveries before he was run out by opposing keeper and captain Adam Gilchrist help India reach a respectable total of 188 runs.Australia looked well set to chase the total but an excellent performance by Indian bowlers restricted Kangroos to 173 runs to enter into final and play Pakistan who have defected New Zealand in other semi final.
"Once we posted a reasonable total, I knew we could win even when Hayden and Symonds were scoring so heavily," Mahendra Dhoni, India captain, said.
