Artistic director Ton Simons is creating a dance production especially for performance in churches, entitled The Organ Dances. The Organ Dances continues the previous collaboration between Ton Simons and organist Reitze Smits on the celebrated production Mind and Matter.
In The Organ Dances, Reitze Smits plays music by Bach and Milhaud, as well as his own improvisations. The colorful sounds of the largest organ in the Netherlands, the special ambiance of the Laurenskerk and the wonderful dancers of Dance Works Rotterdam are set to guarantee an unforgettable and exciting evening.
The Organ Dances will also be presented in the Nicolaïkerk in Utrecht, during the Festival voor de Wind on Sunday 21 October.
