About Tango Buenos Aires
Tango Buenos Aires was created for the "Jazmines" festival at the famous Buenos Aires cabaret "Michelangelo" by renowned Composer and Tango Director Osvaldo Requena. The company was met with immediate success and was added to the season of the General San Martin Municipal Theatre. In 1986, the travels of the company took full swing when they headed to the U.S to represent Argentina in the Latin-American festival at the Delacorte Theatre in New York City's Central Park. Soon afterward, Tango Buenos Aires toured extensively throughout the U.S., Mexico, Puerto Rico, and El Salvador. Among their many performances were the International Tango Festival in Granada, Spain; the International Festival in Adelaide, Australia; and the New Zealand Festival, to name a few. In November 1993, the troupe toured Malaysia, Japan, China, and Beijing; where the company hosted a series of unprecedented master classes and residencies with Chinese dancers at the Dance University of Beijing. Today, the company continues the tradition, playing to rave reviews and full houses throughout the U.S.
