Festival organisers say Bjork will perform songs from her most recent album, Volta, as well as material from her back catalogue.
Bjork is regarded as one of contemporary music's most original artists.
She released her first record at the age of 11 and gained international attention as a member of Icelandic group the Sugarcubes.
Her unusual voice and willingness to experiment with sounds led her to a successful solo career.
To date, she has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide and won numerous awards.
Tickets to the concert will go on sale on November 2, the day after the Sydney Festival releases full details of its program. © 2007 Australian Broadcasting Corporation
