Columbus Day Open House At Boston Museum

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston marks Columbus Day with a FREE Open House on Monday, October 8, from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Visitors are invited to take a global journey through several special exhibitions and the MFA's wonderfully diverse collection.

Discover the "Art of Movement" through a collaboration with the Boston Ballet. The Museum will feature performances by Ballet soloists John Lam and Melissa Hough as they reinterpret art work through dance. Additionally, in conjunction with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum will highlight music from the Caribbean as a celebration of the exhibition America's Paradise and 'Isla Del Encanto': Contemporary Art from the American Caribbean. A lively calypso and reggae performance will complement the richness of the works on view.

Art activities for children will include an exploration of musical instruments and sketching movement. Guided gallery tours will also be offered throughout the day and are available to those who are hearing impaired, blind, or have low vision. The Open House is generously supported by the MFA Associates/MFA Senior Associates.
