EDS Honored for Creating Real-World Solutions

EDS honored 57 of its most accomplished engineers from around the globe for their achievements in creating reusable end-to-end solutions that solve real-world problems for clients.

The honorees are now part of EDS' Distinguished Engineering Program (DEP), a program created and launched last year to recognize and reward EDS' top technical talent.

The DEP consists of two awards, including the Distinguished SE title for employees with a proven track record of creating reusable engineering products, and the Distinguished Engineering Award, which recognizes an engineer's "moment of brilliance" in creating a single outstanding, reusable product.

"At EDS, we know technology is a fast-moving target, and we must train our people with the latest skills to remain innovative and competitive," said EDS Vice Chairman Jeff Heller. "Great training, however, is only part of the solution and the Distinguished Engineering Program reminds us it is the sharing of these skills, along with individual breakthroughs, that makes EDS successful."

Along with the EDS Fellows, who include the company's most innovative thought leaders, the Distinguished SEs work to solve internal and external problems in their specific area of expertise, often acting as experts leading large-scale projects.

"The thing that distinguishes our people in the service industry is the artifacts that our engineers create," said Tom Hill, director of the EDS Fellows and Distinguished Engineering Program. "They let us be more productive, more efficient and deliver the highest quality in the industry."
