Evening Of Female Performers At DanceEast

DanceEast is curating an evening of female performers, on Sat 6 Oct, at 7.30pm, entitled Femme/fatale, bringing together extraordinary dance artists from the UK and France in the intimate space of the Wolsey Studio, Ipswich.

Three very personal views of the 21s century female reveal raw physicality, the sensual, the unattainable and the romantic.

Isobel Cohen of Cambridge-based Helix Dance presents Between the Lines, a witty, playful and exuberant piece inspired by Shakespeare's Sonnet XVI.

Anna Williams and Rachel Krische bring the acclaimed Hands Free 1 & 2 to the programme. Two of the UK's most virtuoso contemporary dance artists come together to present a series of contrasting duets that reveal a range of emotions and dynamics through intimacy and energy.

Chinatsu Kosakatani of French company Artopie, performs the breathtakingly beautiful solo Petit Mort, one of the highlights of the Danse á Lille's annual Les Repérage. The work is choreographed by Cristina Santucci and Loic Saillot who are both dancers with Carolyn Carlson at the Centre Choreographique National in Roubaix, France and also develop their own work through Cie. Artopie.

Assis Carreiro, Director of DanceEast, said: "Femme/fatale is an eclectic, beautiful and inspiring collection of dance performances, exploring three very personal views of the 21s century female. We are thrilled to be presenting these acclaimed dance artists in Ipswich." -- www.danceeast.co.uk
