Although Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber focuses mainly on an extensive single-player adventure mode, its two multiplayer games let you share the fun game mechanics with others. Showing off is always a nice bonus, right?
To play these games, all you need is one Game Card and up to three friends with their own DSes. You will set up a Vs. Battle, and the others use DS Download Play to get in the game. Once everyone’s connected, they choose their Kong, from Donkey, Diddy, Funky and Dixie.
Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber features two multiplayer games: Speed Climb and Booster Battle. Speed Climb shows off the game’s main control technique of using the L and R Buttons to swing from peg to peg in a variety of courses. You can also use the A Button as an attack to jump into one of the Kongs, knocking them off their course. The one who reaches the finish first receives 10 points, second place receives eight points and so on.
Booster Battle drops the Kongs into rocket-powered barrels and puts them on various racetracks. The award structure is the same as in Speed Climb, but the controls are even simpler. You’ll use the +Control Pad to guide your racer through multiple tracks that span both screens. Avoid the obstacles, hit the boost ramps and blast your way to first place!
Even though it’s not the main feature of the game, the multiplayer games of Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber are a great way to share DK’s barrel full of swinging fun with others.-Nintendo
