While in London, middle-school students in 2 schools experienced the magic of Ailey through Revelations: An Interdisciplinary Approach, a curriculum-based initiative which uses AAADT's signature piece to further academic achievement. After the four day workshop, led by Nasha Thomas-Schmitt, Co-Director of Ailey Arts In Education and Community Programs and a former AAADT Company Member, the students attended a special performance of the Company at Sadler's Wells.
After performances throughout the United Kingdom and Lyon, France (where tickets old out in two days), the Company makes an historic revisit to China (Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong) before returning to New York for a five week New York City Center Season beginning with a November 28th Opening Night Gala hosted by Honorary Chair Russell Simmons. -- www.alvinailey.org
