Under the terms of the three-year contract, AT&T will serve as the primary network and data services provider and will equip the headquarters and all satellite locations with AT&T's Internet Protocol (IP)-enabled Virtual Private Network (VPN) services.
AT&T IP-enabled VPN will allow Fairwinds Credit Union to take advantage of enhanced bandwidth, which will provide a fast, private network that can be accessed simultaneously by any of the Fairwinds Credit Union branch sites. The AT&T VPN solution will also provide backup features so that Fairwinds Credit Union can share information efficiently across the network and remain operational when one or more of its sites has a disaster that affects business.
"We needed a cost-efficient, meshed network platform that would be able to ensure business continuity," said Charlie Lai, chief information officer for Fairwinds Credit Union. "We're confident that the AT&T VPN will deliver those benefits while also establishing the peace of mind for our customers that their critical information is retrievable."
With AT&T's MPLS network, Fairwinds Credit Union will be able to safely and efficiently transfer voice and data applications between offices, as well as offer enhanced levels of redundancy. In addition, the flexibility of the VPN will allow Fairwinds Credit Union to continue to add locations to the company network without compromising bandwidth capacity.-AT&T
