
Pakistan's Supreme Court has ruled that tomorrow's presidential vote can go ahead. But the winner will not be announced by the Election Commission until the Court decides on legal challenges against the election.
This is a legal bandaid on election eve designed to prevent chaos.
It means voting can take place but the outcome will remain under a legal cloud until the Court reconvenes on October 17.
The Supreme Court has been hearing several challenges to President Pervez Musharraf's right to seek re-election for another five-year term.
