The Grand Theatre's Ghost Tours' exciting expedition on Thursday 13th December hopes to unlock the spooky secrets of Derby Gaol – one of the most visited haunted sites in England and now owned by paranormal investigator and historian Richard Felix from TV's Most Haunted.

Just 32 places are available on this latest venture from the sell-out Grand Ghost Tours which are organised by the theatre's Marketing Manager Stephen Mercer.

Stephen said: "Many people who have been on the Grand Ghost Tours have experienced sightings, heard strange noises or felt things. On a few occasions, there have even been a few screams and shrieks from our participants. It's fantastic. People have come from all areas of the North West to experience our ghost tours and many have returned again and again! It's a wonderful experience and we are very excited about this visit to Derby Gaol.

"From 10pm to approximately 12 midnight on December 13th, we will have full, unrestricted access to Derby Gaol for anyone who wishes to carry out their own investigations. Full transport is also provided. Please do bring along your paranormal investigative equipment as this is not provided - I will bring some items, but unfortunately not enough for everyone. Derby Gaol also has its own bar which is being opened for us on this night as well!"

The itinerary for the trip is as follows:

2.30pm - Coach departs Blackpool to travel to Derby Gaol, arriving around 6.30pm.

7pm - Ghost Tour of Derby Gaol with our host "The Gaoler" (be careful, he may lock you in one of the cells!) We will then be taken on a Derby Ghost walk where will visit two of the town's most haunted pubs!

10pm approx - Return to Derby Gaol for a light supper in the gaol itself!

12 midnight approx - Coach departs Derby Gaol for Blackpool, arriving at approx 3am

Derby Gaol is a working museum, acquired in 1997 by paranormal investigator and historian Richard Felix, perhaps best known as one of the team on the television programmes Most Haunted and Most Haunted Live. Richard restored the gaol to replicate the original, with two cells The Condemned Cell and the Debtor's Cell which features original doors complete with the prisoners' original graffiti (names, dates, day markers, etched into the wood, marking down how many days the prisoner had until execution day).

Derby Gaol became even more popular when Most Haunted carried out a twenty-four investigation there, bringing the appeal of the haunted location to a wider audience and since then has been one of the most visited haunted sites in England.

Only 32 places are available on this Grand Ghost Tour at Derby Gaol on Thursday 13th December. Tickets are only £48 per person. -- www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk
