In the 1980s, George recorded one of the greatest country records of all time "He Stopped Loving Her Today" which earned him top honors from the Country Music Association (CMA).
In 1992, the CMA recognized George's amazing career by electing him to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Over the years, George has received countless awards and honors for his achievements and contributions to country music, including the prestigious Medal of Arts presented to him by President George W. Bush in 2003.
