
Join the Chicago History Museum for a conversation with this award-winning Chicago author Stuart Dybek on Wednesday, October 10 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Chicago Treasures is a series of conversations with Chicago personalities discussing their views on Chicago and how their careers and the city have shaped and influenced each other.
Stuart Dybek, recently awarded the MacArthur Genius Award, is a lauded author of fiction and poetry and a Chicago native. His work has been published in numerous magazines, including The New Yorker, Harper’s, The Atlantic, and The New York Times.
Dybek’s stories are frequently read on public radio and have been adapted for film and stage. He has worked on various literacy programs for children and adults and helped found the PEN/Faulkner Writer-in-the-School Program. In 2004, The Coast of Chicago was selected for the "One Book, One Chicago" program.
Donna Seaman will moderate the conversation with Dybek. Seaman is a local critic, reviewer, editor, and host of the radio show Open Books. -- www.chicagohs.org
