Film Victoria has approved $1.75 million in production investment to support eight television and one feature film projects. A number of the television projects have previously received content creation and business support funding from Film Victoria.
"The Victorian Government's additional commitment of $2.6 million to specifically stimulate television production has enabled us to substantially increase our support for Victorian projects,"Â stated Sandra Sdraulig, CEO of Film Victoria.
"Combined with our development funding of new content and business support programs, Victorian writers and producers have the opportunity to create great new television concepts and move them into production. We are looking forward to seeing these projects on screen over the next year,"Â she continued.
Film Victoria also approved funding for the animated feature film Mary & Max from the Oscar Award winning team behind Harvie Krumpet, Adam Elliot and Melanie Coombs. The story behind Mary & Max is a simple tale of pen-friendship between two very different people; Mary Dinkle, a little chubby lonely eight year old girl living in the suburbs of Melbourne, and Max Horovitz, a 44 year old severely obese, Jewish man with Asperger's Syndrome living in the chaos of New York.
