• The Dallas Opera Bach-annalia: SUBSCRIPTION DRIVE 2007, Saturday, October 13th from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at
Bachendorf's in the Plaza at Preston Center (Preston Rd. at NW Highway) Join Maestro Graeme Jenkins, WRR personalities, Jay Marshall, Drew Field and Suzanne Calvin for a fun-filled, live broadcast on Classical 101.1 FM Radio. Packed with music and insights into the upcoming season, there just might be a little something extra for those who stop by to say "Hi!" Dallas Opera t-shirts, WRR coffee mugs, posters and more. • The Women's Board of The Dallas Opera SEASON PREVIEW PARTY, Wednesday, October 17th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in The Mansion on
Members of The Women's Board of The Dallas Opera enjoy a delightful evening at The Mansion on Turtle Creek with entertainment by renowned opera singer Eric Halfvarson (accompanied by pianist Mark Armstrong) and insightful remarks by Jonathan Pell about the upcoming "Death by Diva!" Season.
• "Inside The Dallas Opera: OUR GOLDEN MOMENT", Saturday, October 20th at noon on WRR, Classical 101.1 FM
Join Dallas Opera host Suzanne Calvin and guests as they preview the Company's 50th Anniversary Gala, "Bravo 5O!" featuring headliner Renée Fleming and The Dallas Opera Orchestra and Chorus, with special guest star Chris Botti, the Grammy Award-winning trumpeter who dazzles with his inventive approach to unforgettable standards. "Bravo 5O!" will take place Saturday, November 17th at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Tickets for the 7:30 pm concert are priced at $85 to $225 each.
• OPERA IN A BOX, Saturday, October 20th at 2:00 p.m. at "Barnes & Noble"
Imagination is the means by which we blend the mechanics of opera with facts and ideas about a singer's life and his or her discovery of a love for music and how that passion leads the singer on a journey to the world of opera. Singers will guide the audience through an autobiographical portrait of the events in their life that led to a career in opera.
• The Dallas Opera Guild SEASON PREMIERE PARTY, Sunday, October 21st (6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.) at Edgemere
Sip wine, savor appetizers and sign up to volunteer. Then "shop till you drop" at The Dallas Opera Guild Boutique and enjoy a special designer jewelry trunk show by Anne Sadovsky. Top the evening off with a fabulous seated Scottish supper and a program featuring comments by Jonathan Pell and lovely soprano arias by Ava Pine. Cocktail attire or Scottish dress (kilts, tartans, etc.). $45 per person.
•Amici di Opera COCKTAIL LECTURE: MACBETH, Tuesday, October 23rd at 6:00 p.m.
Rub elbows and clink crystal with members of The Dallas Opera's lively and highly diverse young professionals group, Amici di Opera, as they enjoy an entertaining and informative lecture by Dr. Stephen Dubberly of the University of North Texas on the 2007 season opener: Verdi's MACBETH.
