Rankings are based on the percentage revenue growth over five years from 2002-2006.
Axesstel's chief executive officer, Marv Tseu, credits employee dedication and product quality and innovation with the company's over 1,100 percent revenue growth from 2002-2006.
"Our growth is a direct result of the hard work, dedication and determination of our employees," said Tseu. "The high quality and reliability of our products keep our customers coming back and our innovations in broadband data have driven the expansion of our customer base worldwide."
"To rank on Deloitte's Technology Fast 50, companies must have phenomenal revenue growth over five years. Axesstel has proven to be one of the fast-growth success stories in San Diego, and we applaud their dedication to making their vision a reality," said Theresa Drew, managing partner, San Diego Practice, Deloitte & Touche LLP.
Axesstel has grown its customer base to 52 operators in 37 countries worldwide and its increase in revenues of over 1,100 percent from 2002 to 2006 resulted in an eighth ranking in the Technology Fast 50 for San Diego. The average increase in revenues among companies who made the Technology Fast 50 for this region was 179.3 percent.
Axesstel offers the most comprehensive fixed wireless and broadband data product portfolio, including desktop phones, public call office phones, voice and data terminals, broadband modems and 3G gateways that leverage the widest range of wireless broadband technology. The company recently introduced iAxess Wireless Web Computers that provide wireless operators with an ultra low-cost internet computing solution designed to accelerate wireless broadband data penetration in underserved markets where cost is an issue.
To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2002 and $5,000,000 in 2006, be headquartered in North America, and own proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology.
