Twelve die in Stampede at Pavagadh Gujarat

"The stampede occurred between devotees who were coming down the hill and those who were climbing their way up", Resident district collector of Panchmahals R K Rathod said.

The stampede at Putia Pullon way to to the famous Mahakali temple on narrow pasage of Pavagadh hill in Panchmahal district of Gujarat on Sunday morning at 11 AM resulted trampled to twelve death injuring nearly fifty persons. Hundred thousand of devotees throng on festival Navratras.

Sonia Gandhi,the UPA Chairperson has expressed grief and CM of Gujrat Mr Narender Modihas condoled the deaths assuring financial aid of Rupees One lakh to the kins of deceased.

Those injured persons have been admitted to the hospitals. The temple is about 150 Km from Ahmadabad about 800 Meter above sea level.Devotees have to climb through narrow passage of less than Km to pay obeisance.
