The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is proud to present the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and Academy of Russian Choral Music, led by renowned maestro Constantine Orbelian and featuring Metropolitan Opera Star Dimitri Hvorostovsky, in concert for one night only - Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 8:00 p.m.

The legendary ensemble, called "dynamic" and "la crème de la Kremlin," brings its immense talent to Dallas during their US tour (the only other cities on the tour being New York, Los Angeles and Chicago) and will perform alongside legendary baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky. Tickets for this rare and once-in-a-lifetime performance are on sale now.

First called "the greatest chamber orchestra in the world" by composer Dmitri Shostakovich, the legendary Moscow Chamber Orchestra celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2006. The Orchestra's present music director, brilliant American pianist/conductor Constantine Orbelian, has brought the MCO into a new era of international activity and acclaim since his appointment in 1991. For his remarkable achievements with the MCO, Orbelian was awarded the title "Honored Artist of Russia" by President Putin in 2004. From its 1995 performance at the 50th Anniversary Celebrations of the United Nations in San Francisco, to its 2004 performance at the US State Department commemorating 70 years of diplomatic relations between Washington and Moscow, the MCO brings its celebrated artistry to a wide range of international audiences.

Adding further allure to the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and Academy of Russian Choral Music performance is featured soloist Dmitri Hvorostovsky. Known as a "Russian hero" and the reigning "hottest baritone on the planet," Hvorostovsky's stunning good looks combined with his silky, sensual voice make him today's biggest draw on the international Opera stage. Dmitri's charisma is legendary; legions of fans stand for hours to catch a glimpse of the "silver fox" with a fervor you would expect to see only at a rock concert. This combination is expected to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

What the media is saying about the Moscow Chamber Orchestra:
