Unisys is the prime contractor and systems integrator for a Passenger Facilitation Solution that will allow the airport to meet key operational objectives, such as:
Utilization of check-in counters and gates
Considerably higher level of automation and passenger self service, including home Internet check-in as well as Common-Use Self-Service (CUSS) kiosk airport check-in
Compliance with the “Simplifying the Business” (StB) objective of the International Air Transport Association for 100% use of barcode technology
Common bagdrop though the use of a Bagdrop Mini Common Language Facility (CLF).

As part of this project, Unisys has built upon its successful relationship with airport technology company RESA and is integrating RESA’s CREWS CUTE System for Billund Airport. Unisys is also deploying the Unisys Airport Passenger Processing System (APPS), which includes a world-class Common Language Facility that enables an airport agent to connect to multiple airline check-in systems with minimal training. APPS also features the following solutions that will be implemented for Billund Airport:
Check-in Assistant (CKA) – an application built around open systems standards that allows agents to simultaneous connect to multiple hosts
Local Check-in Assistant (LCA) – a local departure control solution for charter and low-cost carriers
Internet Check-in (ICI) – for LCA
CUSS Module – for LCA
