Located beside the old theatre and close to the famous cathedral in an elegant area of Aarhus, this sophisticated new restaurant, cocktail bar and lounge complex has been specified with a complete Tannoy audio solution.
Aimed at a clientele ranging from mid 20´s to late 40´s, the design concept adopted by the Sidebar has produced an environment that is elegant, modern and exceptionally relaxing. Created by outstanding attention to detail and significant investment in furniture, lighting and audio, the result is a venue with an atmosphere that is intentionally less high energy, while instead generating an ambience that succeeds in encouraging people to unwind, stay longer and have fun.
The owner’s passion for quality is evident throughout the three main areas of the Sidebar. The restaurant, open each day until midnight, provides diners with modern cuisine, while the bar features the latest cocktails, fine spirits and fresh draft beers form the local micro-brewery, Aarhus Bryghus. Open at the weekends, the comfortable surroundings of the downstairs lounge creates an exclusive chill-out and late night music venue.
On selecting Tannoy products for the audio system throughout the director and owner of Sidebar, Christopher Lombardi, stated that, “One of the reasons for me to choose Tannoy to the complete installation was that as a musician I have worked with their professional studio monitors with a very good result says”.
Installed by the local Tannoy dealer Dansk Audio Teknik, six Di8’s from the Di Range have been used for both the restaurant and bar areas, while downstairs the rest rooms have been equipped with Di5’s. The lounge area is fitted with a complete V Series system comprising three V6, four V8 and three VS10 BP subwoofers. Managed by three TDX1 digital controllers, all speakers are powered by LAB Gruppen manufactured Tannoy TA amplifiers.
Future plans to add a stage and live sound system to the lounge will ensure that the Sidebar remains one of the best sounding places to go in Aarhus.-Tannoy
