In what appears to be a case of history repeating itself, the Boston Red Sox are once again headed to the World Series after being down 3 games to run just as the Sox were 3 years ago in the 2004 ALCS against their rival, the much-hated Yankees.
The game ended with Red Sox winning 11-2 over the Cleveland Indians. The $103 million dollar rookie Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched for five innings, doing a better showing than Game 2 of the ALCS, which Boston lost to Cleveland, by only allowing two runs out of six hits in five innings pitched.
Hideki Okajima took for "Dice-K" and pitched two scoreless innings before Jonathan Papelbon who gave away two runs before recovering and winning the game and once again gave fans a performance of his Riverdance style victory dance.
At first, the Red Sox scored single runs in the first three innings. However, Rookie second baseman Dustin Pedroia made five runs with a two-run home run in the 7th inning that drove Boston's Fenway Park wild and a three-run double in the 8th inning. Kevin Youkilis hit a run that bounced off Fenway's legendary Coke bottle advertisement giving the Sox another two runs.
The Red Sox will go on to face the Colorado Rockies, the National League Champions on October 24, with the first game at Fenway. - Sourse Wikinews.org
