Kid Rock, real name Robert James Ritchie, whose new album 'Rock N Roll Jesus' recently topped the billboard charts, was released from a Dekalb County jail this morning, posting $1,000 in bond.
The fight, which started inside the Waffle House, then moved to its parking lot, began after another restaurant patron approached a women in Rock's company.
Harlem Dejon Atkins allegedly insulted the women inciting the brawl with Kid Rock and the rest of his entourage. Whether Rock himself actually threw a punch at Atkin's is, at this time, not certain.
After the scuffle Atkins was treated at a near by hospital for minor cuts and bruises received by punching out a Waffle House window. He was charged with felony second-degree damage to property for that offense.
Kid Rock and his posse fled the scene in the celebritie's tour bus but were tracked down by area police soon after. The entourage collectively received misdemeanor battery charges which carries a possible six month jail sentence.
Rock was in Georgia to promote his new album currently number one in the country with 172,000 copies sold in its first week. He had just played a show earlier that night at the Tabernacle concert hall.
The fight in Atlanta comes soon after another confrontation involving Kid Rock last month, when he decked former girl friend Pamela Anderson's ex-husband, Tommy Lee, at the MTV Video Music Awards.
