Experience Music Project Presents 'Oral History Live'

As a part of Experience Music Project|Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame (EMP|SFM)'s ongoing oral history project, EMP|SFM presents Oral History Live!, a series of intimate interviews recorded before a live audience. EMP|SFM has more than 500 oral histories with notable musicians, producers, filmmakers and authors in its collection. Many of which are featured in the permanent exhibition at EMP|SFM, Sound and Vision: Artists Tell Their Stories.

On Oct. 30 at 5:30 p.m. EMP|SFM welcomesone of the first ladies of jazz and Village Vanguard owner, Lorraine Gordon. New York writer and producer Jeff Levenson will interview Gordon about her recent memoir, Alive at the Village Vanguard: My Life In and Out of Jazz Time. The Oral History Live! with Lorraine Gordon will take place in JBL Theater at EMP|SFM, and is presented in partnership with Earshot Jazz.

On Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. EMP|SFM welcomes author and film producer, Clive Barker. Best known for his Hellraiser films, Clive Barker is one of the leading authors of contemporary horror and fantasy fiction. Barker will discuss his latest book, Mister B. Gone. A book signing will follow*. The Oral History Live! with Clive Barker will take place in Sky Church at EMP|SFM, and is presented in partnership with University Book Store. -- www.empsfm.org
