Video Logic celebrates Australian art's long involvement with video as an art form. The exhibition will be on view from 19 August to 2 November 2008 at the Museum Of Contemporary Art, Sydney.

The exhibition presents new and recent work by six artists who have been involved with the medium and contributed substantially to its development over the past three decades.

It will consider the ways that artists bring a range of disciplines to video art—from film and animation to performance, music and literature. The artists included demonstrate the dynamism and depth of Australian video art, a medium that has only reached prominence in recent years, mainly through the work of a younger generation of artists.

Several of the artists in the exhibition have also been prominent theorists and critics in the field and the accompanying publication will feature historical and contextual essays on the field of Australian video art—an area that still has little published material—as well as texts on the artists' works. -- www.mca.com.au
