The Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra announced an innovative new benefit for ticket holders. The new Encore! program invites patrons back to hear a concert a second time, for free. The program is specifically designed to offer listeners the opportunity to enjoy the variations and excitement of live performance more than once.

"Performing live each weekend creates many moments of unpredictability; each time you hear a performance it's slightly different," says Music Director David Robertson. "It's the experience of listening to live music that often creates moments you want to hear again, but with live you can't rewind. With the Encore! program, Saint Louis Symphony patrons can do just that."

Encore! allows SLSO patrons to attend a concert a second time. Concertgoers may exchange their used ticket to a remaining performance of the same program at the Powell Symphony Hall Box Office. Due to seating considerations, the ticket exchange must be done at least one hour prior to the repeat performance.

"Everyone has their favorite piece or pieces," commented Vice President of Marketing Kristi Kovalak. "This is a fantastic way to hear old favorites again or for folks to come back if they've heard something new that intrigues them. When there is something you really spark to, it's extraordinary to be able to experience music of this caliber a second time."

The Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra has been a source of pride for the St. Louis region since its founding in 1880. The SLSO has earned a reputation as a first-tier orchestra through generations of excellent performances, its mastery of a wide-ranging repertoire, and a tradition of partnering with leading musical artists from around the world. Led by innovative American-born conductor David Robertson, the Orchestra continues to strive for artistic excellence, fiscal responsibility and community connection.

In addition to its regular concert performances at Powell Symphony Hall, the SLSO is an integral part of the St. Louis community, presenting more than 250 free education and community partnership programs each year. -- www.slso.org
