eMachines Desktop PCs Kick Off Holidays with Performance and Value

Gateway, Inc. is encouraging consumers to get in a jolly gift-giving mood early this year with the debut of its holiday line of eMachines® desktop PCs and displays.

The new line of products is available now at leading retailers. The new PCs are priced starting at $349.99 after a $50 mail in rebate.(1) In addition, the eMachines 19-inch and 17-inch widescreen LCDs perfectly complement the new desktops by giving customers ample room to see multiple applications, websites and documents.

“During the holiday season, we’re helping our customers give great gifts with two new eMachines PCs that include premium features such as Microsoft Home Premium and 1024MB of RAM,” said Glenn Jystad, Gateway’s manager of consumer desktops. “Plus, the high-end model takes it a step further with a dual core AMD Athlon processor and the largest hard drive we’ve ever offered on an eMachines PC – 320GB of storage capacity. Anyone who needs a new or additional desktop PC for their home will be thrilled with the quality and value they find in the new eMachines models.”

The two new eMachines desktop PCs are ideal systems for families, students and consumers who want to stay productive, keep in touch, take on digital media hobbies, as well as enjoy online entertainment and PC gaming. Plus, the multi-format double-layer DVD+/-R/RW drive makes it easy to burn and play back MP3 music, video, photos and other content on CD and DVD. It’s easy to connect peripherals and electronic devices such as digital cameras and MP3 players to the new eMachines PCs via their six USB ports. They also include an integrated 15-in-1 digital media reader, which accepts virtually all of the most popular media cards and flash memory used in consumer electronics devices, so customers can quickly and easily access their digital content.

The systems come with ample technology and popular features. The powerful AMD processors and 1024MB DDR2 memory ensure that the PCs can handle multiple tasks at hand. Plus, both systems are loaded with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium, giving consumers first-rate capabilities. Customers will enjoy gaming, video and audio with the systems’ NVIDIA® GeForce® integrated graphics that support DirectX 9.0 and 8-Channel (7.1) or 6-Channel (5.1) High Definition audio and amplified speakers.

The new eMachines PCs come ready to use with software and tools including Microsoft® Works 8.5, Cyberlink® Power2Go™, Microsoft® Internet Explorer, Adobe® Reader, Google Toolbar and Google Desktop Search. In addition, the systems come with eMachines Connect™, an easy-to-use portal that connects customers to broadband services available in their area.

The eMachines line of desktop PCs can be ideally complemented by eMachines displays available now at affordable prices. The two eMachines widescreen LCDs, available in a 19-inch model for $229.99 and in a 17-inch model for $189.99, provide high resolutions, bright color and clarity as well as the widescreen design that makes them ideal for use with multiple applications and Microsoft Windows Vista. In addition, a 17-inch flat-screen CRT is also available for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate.-Gateway
