The work of leading Malaysian-Australian artist Simryn Gill operates across a range of methods and media, including photography, objects, collections, books and text works.
Through the making, presentation and circulation of objects, Gill asks how ideas and meanings are communicated, and what happens in that uncertain space between people and things. This major exhibition will focus on new works and selected pieces from the past five years, as well as a smaller selection of earlier works and process materials.
It will explore the artist's interest in materials and their meanings, as well as her experiments with methods of display. -- www.mca.com.au
