Burning Man Culprit In Trouble Again

The man arrested for setting the burning man icon on fire four days before it was supposed to go ablaze, is in trouble again, this time with San Francisco police, after attempting to set flames to the famous Grace Cathedral.

Paul David Addis, 35, was busted by police, after they received an anonymous tip, on the Cathedral steps at 11:40 pm.

Addis was found wearing an ammunition belt with small explosives – none of which, police said, would have caused substantial damage.

The San Francisco man was arrested on suspicion of attempted arson, possession of explosives, and with intent to terrorize a church. He is being held on $488,000 bond and is expected to be admitted for psychiatric evaluation.

Addis was also in the spotlight in August after setting the burning man on fire, at Nevada Burning Man Festival, four days ahead of schedule.

"This was not an act of vengeance, it was one of love," Addis said then. "A love of the ethos that is fading at Burning Man. There's no sense of spontaneity. No sense of 'F- it. Let's burn this down."

The Grace Cathedral in San Francisco is the third largest Episcopal church in the country. When asked for a motive, Addis reportedly said that it was his religious right.

#1 if you investigate anything

if you investigate anything beyond the basic AP writeup, he only had small LEGAL fireworks on his person.

so stop conjecturing on him.
innocent until proven guilty may help you someday too.

he is delusional and mentally unwell.
hopefully he will be get some institutional help.

but i don't consider him an arsonist for having fireworks at a stone building. he's just mentally crazy to brag about his stunt as if he were actually in possesion of the means to burn down the church. it's not a hate crime.

while his burning man stunt was arson, that doesn't mean i equate it with those actually burning churches/buildings with accelerants for hate or fraud reasons.
It was stupid, i think it shows that he was delusional enough to think that it would not damage other art and that he could warn enough people to make it somewhat safe.

Someone who is paranoid schizophrenic is not the same as someone who is an attention seeking whore.
So quit projecting.
