Actor Lane Garrison Gets Prison Time

Actor Lane Garrison, best known for his role on television's 'Prison Break,' was sentenced to over three years in real prison today, following a drunk driving accident that left a Beverly Hill's teenager dead.

Garrison who played an inmate on the program, was issued three years and four months in prison by a Beverley Hills Superior Court judge. He was also given four years parole and ordered to pay $300,000 in restitution to the victim's families.

According to the Associated Press, Garrison met the victim, 17 year old Vahagn Setian, and her two friends, aged 15, at a grocery store on Dec. 2.

In route to a party, Garrison smashed his Land Rover into a tree, killing Setian and causing the others injuries.

The actor had a blood alcohol level twice California's legal limit at the scene, it's reported, and was also under the influence of cocaine.

Garrison plead guilty, last May, to manslaughter, drunk driving and providing alcohol to minors.

"The public has the right to know that conduct such as this, causing devastation such as this will have consequences,” said Judge Elden S. Fox.

Garrison showed no reaction at his sentencing, but told Setian's family he was sick of his behavior that night.

"This remorse is genuine,” Garrison said before the ruling, “I feel it every day."
