Dayton Orchestra To Perform At St. Patrick’s Church

On Saturday, November 3 at 1:30 pm, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Principal Quartet will perform a free concert at St. Patrick’s Church in Troy, Ohio. The DPO Principal Quartet consists of Acting Concertmaster Aurelian Oprea, Assistant Principal Cellist Christina Coletta, Principal Violist Sheridan Kamberger Currie, and Principal Second Violinist Kirstin Greenlaw.

The Principal Quartet will perform the Quartet in E flat major KV 428 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Quartet in E minor, op. 44 No. 2 by Felix Mendelssohn.

St. Patrick’s Church Children’s Choir will perform The Journey, by Joseph M. Martin. This "double choir" piece uses two popular tunes: the Shaker hymn Simple Gifts and the theme from the slow movement of Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 in E minor (From The New World), B. 178 (Op. 95) (first published as No. 5). -- www.daytonphilharmonic.com
