CA (NYSE: CA) today announced it has been positioned in the leaders quadrant in Gartner's "Magic Quadrant for Web Access Management (WAM), 2H07" report.* Gartner positions vendors in the magic quadrant based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute.

According to Gartner, in the WAM marketplace "larger platform vendors extended their positions significantly in 2006, while smaller vendors exhibited limited growth, and this trend is continuing in 2007. Gartner also noted that "security is increasingly seen as an 'envelope' around business logic that should be managed and controlled separately, and this is resulting in more interest in heterogeneous access management and specifically in WAM solutions."

CA's Web access management product, CA SiteMinder Web Access Manager, combines traditional Web access management capabilities with identity federation and strong authentication management as part of a highly scalable, manageable and proven architecture. CA SiteMinder Web Access Manager is a key component of CA's IAM (Identity and Access Management) solution which also includes identity administration, user provisioning, host access management, enterprise single sign-on, user directory, auditing, reporting, and Web services security.

"We are gratified that Gartner has evaluated us and placed us in the Leaders Quadrant," said Michelle Waugh, director of identity and access management (IAM) product marketing at CA. "We continue to deliver technology that enables IT organizations to secure access to the full range of services that they are extending to internal and external users via the Internet-while enabling them to administer that access in a way that enhances their identity and access management related management processes."-CA news
