Get ready for the fright of your life as the world’s most famous survival horror game series invades Wii. Players will find themselves immersed into a nail-bitingly tense fight to stay alive as they take on the sinister Umbrella Corporation in this new instalment to the Resident Evil® series - Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles!
Featuring classic and never before seen locations to play through, players will gain a complete picture of the Umbrella Corporation as they unlock new areas and complete side-missions which allow them to view the story from different character perspectives. Also compatible with Nintendo’s new peripheral, the Wii Zapper, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles will provide an all-new Resident Evil and Wii experience when it launches on 30 November 2007.
Both existing fans and newcomers to the Resident Evil series will be delighted by the latest ‘re-incarnation’ of the game that defined the survival horror genre. However, unlike its predecessors, this game is not a third-person action-adventure game, but instead a scary and exciting first person shooter which will test your trigger finger. What’s more, for added immersion Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles is fully compatible with the new Wii Zapper!
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles spans the entire Resident Evil series, giving new insights into the events of the previous games as well as taking players to all-new locations like Umbrella’s headquarters, where the evil corporation will finally be put to a stop! Fans of previous titles will be able to discover the back story behind many of the titles they have previously played and be reunited with familiar faces like Rebecca Chambers, Billy Coen, Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliveira, Ada Wong, and the mysterious Albert Wesker.
There are a total of four scenarios in this game based around the train derailment, mansion incident, destruction of Raccoon City and the final demise of Umbrella. Each of these chapters contains three sub-levels, each with a choice of two characters to play as. The different characters available each have unique abilities and strengths and weaknesses making playing as each of them a totally different experience. There are also multiple bonus levels to unlock in each scenario, providing an all-new challenge.
The unique Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers give players greater accuracy than ever before. By using the Wii Remote pointer to move the on-screen cursor the player is able to quickly target and take down enemies with pinpoint accuracy. What’s more, locations in the game feature interactive objects and backgrounds allowing players to trigger actions and reveal secrets by shooting specific items. As this title is also compatible with the new Wii Zapper (available separately) players will be given the chance to completely immerse themselves even further into the action, and play like never before on Wii.
To reload their weapons players need only shake the Wii Remote and for close combat situations a knife can be used by performing a simple slashing motion. Motion-sensitive controls don’t end there with the return of quick time events like those seen in Resident Evil 4. At specific parts in the game players will be prompted to press a button or shake the Wii Remote to dodge incoming danger. If they are fast enough their character will dodge to safety, if they fail things could get messy!
