Lorna Luft's Songs My Mother Taught Me At The Annenberg Theater

On Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 8 p.m. Lorna Luft will delight Annenberg Theater audience members with Songs My Mother Taught Me; a highly personal and entertaining show of music inspired by her great mother Judy Garland's legendary songbook!

Luft's Songs My Mother Taught Me, written and directed by Emmy winners Mitzie and Ken Welch who are best known for The Carol Burnett Show, also pays homage to composers, performers and pals who were part of Garland's life including Harold Arlen, Ira Gershwin and the Rat Pack.

Lorna brings unmatched emotion to many of her mother's signature songs including "Come Rain or Come Shine", "The Man that Got Away" and "Rock-A-Bye Your Baby with a Dixie Melody" accentuated with touching and humorous memories. In thrilling multimedia portions of the show Lorna presents her mother to audiences once again using video of Garland's MGM and television career. She sings directly to and with her mother on-screen crafting extraordinarily touching duets that leave audiences breathless.

Born to Garland and Sid Luft, Lorna Luft has had an extremely diversified career spanning more than 35 years in show business. From her early work with her mother to spectacular concert performances, acclaim on Broadway, and in television, Lorna has the reputation of being a stellar entertainer.
