Queen makes Vogue's most glamorous list

Queen Elizabeth II has been named alongside supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell - and her screen alter-ego Helen Mirren - as one of the world's most glamorous women by British Vogue magazine.

The style bible says in its December "glamour" edition that the 81-year-old monarch is "as glamorous in her brogues and headscarf in Balmoral [her Scottish Highland retreat] as she is wearing the crown jewels".

"Glamour is about how you wear something, not about what you wear," it added, identifying the Queen's "USP" - or unique selling point - as her jewels.

"You can't buy glamour, and you can't fake it. But unlike beauty, it's not something you are born with, though it comes more naturally to some than others."

Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren, 62, who played Queen Elizabeth II in director Stephen Frears's film The Queen, was praised for her poise and being as "radiant as a lightbulb, sexy and talented ... she dresses perfectly, too".
