Writers Sarah Nixon and Mark Chatterton and musical director Tayo Akinbode have weaved their magic again to create a unique rock ‘n’ roll panto at the Everyman from Friday 23 November to Saturday 12 January.
Ancient Fazakerly. Aladdin, a pauper, falls deeply in love with Princess Willow, yet when her mother The Empress finds out she is so angry she demands Aladdin’s head on a plate. Aladdin escapes only to be duped by the evil Abanaza into a cave to find a magic lamp. Aladdin falls into the cave and when he finds the lamp to his surprise there is a genie that lives inside. The genie grants Aladdin 3 wishes. What will he wish for? Will he be able to wed his Princess and escape the evil Abanaza?
The Everyman panto is always a great night out for all the family. With music, dancing and lots of cheeky laughs there’s something for everyone. For the sixth year running, the panto has been written by husband and wife team, Sarah Nixon and Mark Chatterton; Mark is also directing the show.
Unlike any other panto around, our multi-talented cast sing, dance, entertain, and play music to ensure the best rock ’n’ roll ball in town. The fantastic Francis Tucker, returns for his ninth rock panto and plays Aladdin’s mum ‘Dottie Twanky’; in their Everyman panto debuts are Sam Bloom as ‘Aladdin’ and Emily Grace as ‘Princess Willow’; the beautiful Kate Pinell turns the tables this year to appear as Princess Willow’s wickedmother ‘TheEmpress’; Phil Corbitt does his evil deeds as greedy ‘Abanaza’; and the ever madcap Adam Keast returns this year to play ‘Sergeant Pepper’. To save Aladdin and help him get the girl are ‘Fairy Nokia’ played by Nicky Swift and ‘Candy Floss’ the Genie played by the effervescent Steve Simmonds. -- www.everymanplayhouse.com
