Her favorite celebrity topics are plastic surgery, snooty attitudes, eating disorders, but most of all, she turns her humor on herself - her plastic surgery and her ostensible D-List status.
Kathy came to the attention of the TV viewing public in 1996 when she was cast as Brooke Shields colleague, Vickie Groener, in "Suddenly Susan." In 1998, HBO gave Kathy her own one hour special, "A Hot Cup of Talk." On the Bravo network, she performed two comedy specials - "Kathy Griffin...Is Not Nicole Kidman," and "Strong Black Woman." Kathy has been seen regularly on MTV shows, has made hilarious appearances TV talk shows, and has been featured in numerous films. Kathy has also supplied voices for characters on "The Simpsons," "Dilbert," and one of the "Spider Man" animated series. She also appeared in a dual role on "The X-Files" and in Eminem's video "The Real Slim Shady."
Kathy participated in, and won, the 2003 season of "Celebrity Mole," and then hosted the NBC reality series "Average Joe." In August 2005, her own reality show, "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List," debuted on Bravo to rave reviews and, in 2006, was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Reality Program.
